Christian Meditations in a Minute: God’s Divine Protection

Today’s Scripture:

But you, O Lord, are a shield around me;
you are my glory, the one who holds my head high.
I cried out to the Lord,
and he answered me from his holy mountain.
I lay down and slept,
yet I woke up in safety,
for the Lord was watching over me.
I am not afraid of ten thousand enemies
who surround me on every side. ~Psalm 3: 3-6Psalm 3: 3-6
English: World English Bible - WEB

3 But you, Yahweh, are a shield around me, My glory, and the one who lifts up my head. 4 I cry to Yahweh with my voice, And he answers me out of his holy hill. Selah. 5 I laid myself down and slept. I awakened; for Yahweh sustains me. 6 I will not be afraid of tens of thousands of people Who have set themselves against me on every side.

(NLT)

Today’s Meditation:

Heavenly Father, I trust You to be my Shield in every area of my life.
I know that I don’t have to constantly watch my back,
because You love me and will watch it for me.
Last night, I laid my head on the pillow.
I was asleep, unaware and powerless.
And yet, I awoke this morning to a new day.
Alive because You kept me alive.
Safe because You kept me safe.
So, today and everyday, I choose not to fear.
Why? Because You love me,
and I am learning to trust Your love.

Christian Meditations in a Minute: You Don’t Grow Weary In Well Doing

You Don't Grow Weary Meditation - Flowers and Butterfuly

Today’s Scripture:

For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.

And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not. ~Galatians 6:8-9Galatians 6:8-9
English: World English Bible - WEB

8 For he who sows to his own flesh will from the flesh reap corruption. But he who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life. 9 Let us not be weary in doing good, for we will reap in due season, if we don’t give up.

Today’s Meditation:

I do not sow to my flesh.
I deprive my flesh of strength by starving it
and instead, I feed my spirit.
And, since I chose to feed my spirit,
I shall live forever with my Father in heaven.
I do not let myself become frustrated in my efforts to please God.
I act on God’s Word and the leadings of His Holy Spirit.
I do the work that God has given me to do in this world
By Faith.
When I do the sowing, God does the growing.
And I will reap the harvest that He has for me
because I refuse to give up!

Christian Meditations in a Minute: Faith Without Works - Becoming a Friend of God

Faith Without Works - Praying the Prayer of Faith

Today’s Scripture:

Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble.
But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead? Was not Abraham our father justified by works, when he had offered Isaac his son upon the altar? Seest thou how faith wrought with his works, and by works was faith made perfect? And the scripture was fulfilled which saith, Abraham believed God, and it was imputed unto him for righteousness: and he was called the Friend of God.~James 2:19-22James 2:19-22
English: World English Bible - WEB

19 You believe that God is one. You do well. The demons also believe, and shudder. 20 But do you want to know, vain man, that faith apart from works is dead? 21 Wasn’t Abraham our father justified by works, in that he offered up Isaac his son on the altar? 22 You see that faith worked with his works, and by works faith was perfected;

Today’s Christian Meditation:

Today, I will put my faith into ACTION.
I will not just say that I believe but I will act on those beliefs.
I will listen for the voice of God,
and act on the Leadings of the Holy Spirit.
Lord, lead me and guide me this day to be like my father Abraham
who used his works to make his faith perfect before you.
That I too may be called
A Friend of God.

Today’s Scripture:

[For I always pray to] the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, that He may grant you a spirit of wisdom and revelation [of insight into mysteries and secrets] in the [deep and intimate] knowledge of Him, By having the eyes of your heart flooded with light, so that you can know and understand the hope to which He has called you, and how rich is His glorious inheritance in the saints (His set-apart ones), And [so that you can know and understand] what is the immeasurable and unlimited and surpassing greatness of His power in and for us who believe, as demonstrated in the working of His mighty strength… ~Ephesians 1:17-19Ephesians 1:17-19
English: World English Bible - WEB

17 that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you a spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him; 18 having the eyes of your hearts TR reads “understanding” instead of “hearts” enlightened, that you may know what is the hope of his calling, and what are the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints, 19 and what is the exceeding greatness of his power toward us who believe, according to that working of the strength of his might

Today’s Christian Meditation:

Today, I will watch my mouth.
I will only speak good and not evil.
I will not gripe or complain,
but I will keep words of peace and joy in my mouth.
Today, I will watch my heart
because out of it flows the issues of life.
I will grab hold of my deeper self
and bring it in line with God’s Word and God’s will for my life.
I will keep my words and the thoughts of my heart
acceptable in the eyes of You my Lord.
Because You are my solid rock.
You are the Redeemer of my soul.
Alone this is impossible.
But with You, Lord, I know I can do it.

Today’s Scripture:

He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in Him will I trust. ~Psalm 91:1-3Psalm 91:1-3
English: World English Bible - WEB

91 1 He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High Will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. 2 I will say of Yahweh, “He is my refuge and my fortress; My God, in whom I trust.” 3 For he will deliver you from the snare of the fowler, And from the deadly pestilence.

Today’s Christian Meditation:

The Lord has prepared a secret place for me,
and even as I dwell in this earthly body,
I can still abide in His secret place.
Today, I live beneath the very shadow of the wings of my Lord.
No matter what tests or tribulations may come my way,
I am not afraid.
But, I say boldly, my God is my refuge,
and a strong fortress of protection built up around me.
And, today, I choose to trust Him.
